Hope for Life — Our Suicide Prevention Conference
"I felt incredibly emotional throughout the day, yet I left feeling inspired, motivated, and genuinely full of hope."
The Hope for Life Conference is The Jordan Legacy's national suicide prevention conference — a day of powerful stories, honest conversation and, above all, hope. Our next conference will take place in 2027. We'll let you know as soon as details are announced,
so you can be ready to book your place when tickets go on sale.

"Most kids looked up to Jordan. He was fiercely loyal and would always stand up for the underdog, publicly confronting bullies or those who would mock others."
How did Hope for Life begin?
The conference began as a way for Jordan's family to face the immense sadness of each December 4th — the anniversary of the day Jordan took his own life in 2019. Out of devastating loss, they wanted to create inspiration: a belief that hope can be found again, and that from tragedy, positive change can happen. The conference name is even written in Jordan's own handwriting.
What happened at Hope for Life 2025?
On Tuesday 2nd December 2025, more than 120 delegates — from across the UK and as far away as Malta — gathered at the Yorkshire Events Centre in Harrogate for our third Hope for Life Conference. What they experienced was story after story of triumph over adversity.
Highlights included:
- Ellen Roome, campaigner and founder of #JoolsLaw, who shared why she is fighting for parents' access to their child's mobile data after their death — and who received our "Creating Impact Award"
- Mike McCarthy, co-founder of The Baton of Hope UK, on his son Ross's plea to "please fight for mental health"
- Keith Senior and Adrian Morley of Rugby League Cares, whose energetic session on managing emotions included an impromptu rugby training session in the conference room
- Nina Smith, suicide prevention advocate and Churchill Fellow, on what UK schools can learn from mental health support in America and Australia
- Angela Allen, founder of Bags for Strife, who lost both her daughter and her husband to suicide, on turning unimaginable loss into practical support for others
- Dr Manoj Krishna, former spinal surgeon and founder of the Human Wisdom Foundation, in conversation with Steve Phillip about investing in our mental health before crisis takes over
Music ran through the day too — from Mike McGrother's moving songs of Teesside's steelworkers to Melody Reed, who has performed at all three Hope for Life Conferences. Our "Spirit of Collaboration" Award went to Sean's Place in Bootle, a centre supporting over 450 men every week.

What makes this suicide prevention conference different?
Delegates consistently tell us the same thing: the feeling of safety in the room.

"What struck me most was the sense of safety and openness in the room. I don't think I've ever been at a conference where it felt so natural to be vulnerable."
Hope for Life brings together people with lived experience, charities, campaigners and professionals — with tears and laughter in equal measure, and hope at the centre of everything.
When is the next Hope for Life Conference?
